How to Use the Margin Calculator

Margin is the collateral deposit needed to maintain an open position on your trading account. Because forex is traded with leverage, you do not need to pay the full value of the contract. The calculator does the math for you in seconds.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Choose the Currency Pair from the selector menu.
Select your desired Leverage Ratio (e.g. 1:500 for our ECN/Standard accounts).
Enter the Position Size in Lots.
The calculator automatically converts currency rates and displays the required deposit in USD.

Margin Calls and Stop Outs

If your trades move into a loss and your account equity drops to 100% of your required margin, you will receive a margin call. If equity falls to 50% of required margin, our risk engines automatically liquidate the losing positions (stop out) to protect your account.
